Who Will You Choose?

 Ellie is a dark brown mini pony who came to SunnySide Farm in 2021 from a local rescue, Iron Horse Sanctuary in Goshen, NY. Estimated to be middle-aged, Ellie was previously found living in poor conditions and was rescued from a hoarding situation. After being fostered, she found her forever home at SunnySide, where she now gets to live the life she deserves as a pasture pet—spending her days with her horse and pony friends, soaking up attention, and enjoying plenty of treats. 

 Dakota is a chestnut brown mini pony who arrived at SunnySide in 2024 with her young daughter, Gracie, from a farm in Georgia. We were so excited to welcome new mini pony friends for Ellie—and even more excited to bring in a mother and baby together. Now, Dakota and Gracie get to stay side by side, enjoying life among their horse and pony companions, other animal friends, and the people who care for them. 

 Prada is a pony who is half standardbred and although his exact age is unknown, we do know that he is senior. He came to us from a local rescue named Iron Horse Sanctuary who saved him from a kill buyer at an auction in Pennsylvania. He came to us with Ray of Sunshine from Iron Horse Sanctuary. He and Ray are always together - their stalls are next to each other, they go out to the paddock together and come back inside together. They eat at the same time. They play often. Prada is patient, gentle, and kind. He loves attention from people of all ages. He can be timid with the other horses and often spends time standing quietly in the paddock.  

 Gracie is a brown and white mini pony and Dakota’s daughter. At just 2 years old, she joined SunnySide in 2024 alongside her mom from a farm in Georgia. Full of energy and personality, Gracie is playful, vibrant, and always ready for a treat. She’s usually the first to run up to the fence to greet visitors, eager for attention. You’ll often find her zooming around the paddock—especially with her friend Juliette—or happily playing with her oversized ball. 

 Juliette is a beautiful thoroughbred that was retired to us after being a lesson horse at a riding academy in New York. She developed arthritis and was retired to SunnySide to enjoy a quiet life with friends - people and horses alike. She’s since started medication for her arthritis and gets around easily and gracefully. She especially loves spending time with Ray Ray and her mini pony friend, Gracie.  

 Ray of Sunshine (chest nut brown) (our beloved Ray Ray) is a thoroughbred whom is 15 years old. Ray was born April 17th 2011 and sold as a 2 yr old colt at a low end auction upstate. He was part of a thoroughbred dispersal by the infamous Flying Zee Stables. Iron Horse Sanctuary purchased him with a terrible infection but over the months and with a recastration, he recovered. Sadly Ray of Sunshine had a congenital issue that caused him to lose his eyesight. He is fully blind and now navigates his world with his SunnySide family with grace every day. He is calm, sweet, and incredibly happy. Ray Ray loves both attention and treats! He is kind and gentle to all of his horse friends. He is especially bonded to Prada, his guide pony, and they came to live at SunnySide together, both from Iron Horse.
